Development of a mobile app for visiting the city
The project
Infofactory has developed an app and a website to promote tourism in Udine. The system automatically updates by acquiring content from external sources through web scraping, RSS, and web services.
The collaboration with numerous local stakeholders (museums, associations, tourist bodies, universities...) allows for the app and the website to be updated with new content. Each site is indeed monitored, the content is formatted in real time and then inserted into the Udine Vicina app and its corresponding website.
There is still the possibility to manually publish content through the CMS.
In addition, the app has integrated a scanning system to discover more information about the city through urban signage that contains Qr-codes.

The sections dedicated to citizens contain daily use information related to the city. The Smart City section provides information on SAF services, on available parking spaces in the city, on the location and availability of bicycles at the stands, and much more.
Furthermore, the app includes sections dedicated to news, traffic, children, sports with news about Udinese and GSA Basket, and health.

The application contains a map that displays all geolocated points of interest and information about accessibility.
The "Around Me" feature allows you to find the points of interest closest to your location.
The application is divided into sections to meet every need: "Shopping" with downtown shops, "Dining" with profiles of Udine's restaurants and venues, "Hospitality" linked to the Turismo FVG booking system, "Cinema" and "Theatre" with showtimes and programming.

Waste Management.
Through the application, citizens can access NET services. In addition, everyone can use "where do I throw it?" the service that tells you how to dispose of waste properly.
Bike sharing.
In addition to the tourist routes, points where to rent a bike with the Bike Sharing service are indicated. Availability is updated in real time on the app.
